The kids have been involved in music classes since they were 2 years old.  Roy took classes from Mrs. Danuta at the park, followed by each sister.  He took a break for a few years and then started piano lessons with Sonja Fife about 3 years ago.  It’s always a struggle to practice, but he sounds wonderful.  Genny started with Mrs. Danuta when she was 2.  Mrs. Danuta has the kids singing and dancing and at about 5 years old she teaches them the recorder.  Now Genny is almost 9 and square dances and does Gypsy and Chinese dances, sings and plays alto and soprano recorders.  She also started piano a few years ago and is doing great.  Marie followed the same path with recorder and has just started piano.  Next fall we’ll be trying to focus on self study, dvd, guitar lessons.  Practicing regularly is difficult, but I’ve noticed them all use their music as an ice breaker when meeting new people.
