The Erie County Fair is a big event in Western New York.  It started in 1820, had a few years off then resumed in 1841 and has been held every year since, with the exception of 1943 due to WWII.  The fair also moved around the county in the beginning, but has been in it’s current location in Hamburg, NY since 1868.  The fair started with 12 acres and a 1 day event and has grown to 275 acres and 12 days.

I went as a child and have been scheduling our trip to Buffalo to include fair dates.  This year mom and I guided the kids away from the midway and rides. We went up and down through the barns and agriculture buildings.
